At dawn on Monday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the father of a freed prisoner and detained about 30 Palestinians from the Qalandiya refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” quoted security sources as saying that the occupation forces stormed the town of Kafr Aqab and the Qalandia camp, raided the home of the freed prisoner Ashraf Ammar, and arrested his father to pressure him to surrender himself.

The sources confirmed that the Israeli army stormed a residential building, expelled its residents, and turned it into a military barracks, in addition to arresting about 30 citizens from Qalandiya camp.

Storms and arrests

Scenes published by Palestinian platforms, at dawn on Monday, showed the occupation forces taking young Palestinians as they stormed the Qalandia camp, north of the occupied city of Jerusalem, where they launched an arrest campaign.

The clips documented the Israeli army soldiers taking young men in handcuffs, and one of the soldiers violently kicking the door of a residential building, amid a massive deployment of infantry forces in the narrow alleys of the camp, and the continued storming of military vehicles.

Local media reported that one of those arrested by the occupation army in Qalandia camp was the freed prisoner Arafat Yaqoub.

It was reported that the Israeli army sent military reinforcements to the camp, and turned a house in the camp into a military barracks after forcing its residents to leave it forcibly.

The West Bank is under fire

In Tulkarm, on Monday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested two young men after raiding their house in the city and vandalizing its contents.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces arrested Issam Zablah and Omri Diab (22 years old), and the occupation forces also raided the home of prisoner Waad Fathallah Al-Hamshari in the eastern neighborhood of the city, after taking him with them.

The forces carried out a wide search operation, destroyed its contents, and subjected his family members to interrogation, noting that he was arrested two weeks ago at the Jabara checkpoint south of the city.

As for Nablus, security and local sources reported to “Wafa” that the occupation stormed many areas and streets in the city, Balata Al-Balad to the east, and Al-Ain camp to the west, and raided homes, searched them, and tampered with their contents.

The occupation forces arrested a number of citizens, including Mohie Al-Samni from Street 10, Jawad Raafat Qatouni from Al-Ain camp, and Muhammad Nassar, Muhammad Samir Dwikat, Bilal Dwikat, and Ahmed Al-Jiaan from the Balata Al-Balad area.

Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation forces arrested two young men from the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, and closed the entrances to the town. The Jerusalem Governorate said that the two young men were Rami Al-Fakhouri and Jaber Abu Subeih, noting that the Israeli army arrested them after raiding their homes in the town.

These arrests were accompanied by the closure of the entrances to the town of Al-Ram, and the prevention of movement into and out of the town, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.

Settlers’ terrorism haunts the people of the West Bank

On the other hand, the settlers are also escalating their systematic attacks by firing live bulletsToday, Monday, on citizens in the city of Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem.

Security sources reported to “Wafa” that settlers opened fire on Palestinian citizens while they were on their land in the “Jabal Harasa” area, east of Beit Sahour, but no injuries were reported.

It is noteworthy that the frequency of these attacks has escalated in the Harasa area in an attempt to steal lands and prevent citizens from accessing them.

Various areas in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, have witnessed an escalation in settler attacks and Israeli army incursions since October 2023.

Army and settler attacks in the West Bank since that date resulted in the death of at least 1,154 Palestinians and the injury of about 11,750, in addition to the arrest of nearly 22,000, according to official Palestinian data.
