American accounts circulated a video clip that they said documented US President Donald Trump napping during a press conference, in a scene similar to clips that had previously spread of former President Joe Biden.

In one of the photos, Trump appears asleep, while in the video he appears with his head on the table in front of him, while others continue talking behind him.

The clips circulated on social media platforms received millions of views, amid questions about the health of the American President, or the extent of his interest in the course of the conference and its guests.

Many users commented on American platforms criticizing the lack of widespread media coverage of the scene, noting that similar clips of Biden were being published and receiving great attention.

However, verification conducted by the Open Source Unit showed that the original scene dates back to a press conference on health care, with the participation of a number of specialized officials.

Despite the general similarity in the scene, the footage did not match any actual appearance of Trump sleeping on the table as in the circulating video.

Upon reverse research, it was found that the clip was first published via one of the accounts known for publishing satirical clips and “memes,” which suggests that the video does not have a real nature.

A review of the video’s details also shows that Trump’s movement is unnatural, and that his final position is inconsistent with the context of the scene, which confirms that the clip was generated using artificial intelligence techniques.
