Al-Ismaily continued its disappointing results in the group to avoid relegation in the Egyptian Football League, and lost to its guest, Modern Sport (0-2), in the sixth round of the group, on Friday evening.
Ismaily’s balance froze at 14 points in last place in the group, six points behind Pharco, which is in penultimate place.

This setback comes at a time when observers are recalling the ancient history of Ismaili. It is considered the first Egyptian and Arab team to win the African Champions League title (formerly the African Cup for Champion Clubs), achieving the title in 1969.
Al-Ismaily had preceded the Egyptian football giants Al-Ahly and Zamalek in winning continental glory, when it defeated the Congolese team TP Mazembe (formerly Engelbere) in the final, with a score of (5-3) in the two-legged matches.
