Seven people were killed and 22 others were injured as a result of a drone attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on residential neighborhoods inside the city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State in the west of the country, according to what was confirmed by the Sudan Doctors Network.
Osama Sayed Ahmed, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in the city of Damazin in Blue Nile State, confirmed that military operations and battles are escalating significantly between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces on a number of axes and fighting fronts in South Kordofan and South Blue Nile.

Sayed Ahmed quoted a Sudanese army statement confirming that the forces of the 4th Infantry Division in the city of Damazin, with the support of its affiliated forces, were able to repel an attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the Sali area in the Blue Nile Province, southeast of the country.
The statement also stated that 36 combat vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces were destroyed, and two vehicles in good condition were seized, in addition to the killing of a number of elements he described as mercenaries.
In turn, the Sudan Doctors Network condemned what it described as the Rapid Support Forces deliberately targeting densely populated civilian neighborhoods, stressing that the attack did not target military sites, but rather led to civilian casualties, in what it considered a violation of humanitarian and international laws and norms.
The Sudan Doctors Network held the leaders of the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for the attack, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to put pressure to stop what it described as repeated attacks on civilians.
