In recent days, Capcom launched its latest new story game, called “Pragmata,” after announcing it more than 5 years ago, as it was considered one of the highly anticipated games of the famous Japanese company.
The “Pragmata” game is one of the innovative new titles with which Capcom is trying to return to leadership in the world of gaming and repeat its previous successes, instead of re-introducing new parts of its previous successful games.
It should be noted that the game “Pragmata” has suffered from many delays over the past years, which led to its release being postponed for several years, as it should have been released before this time.
Such games usually face a fierce challenge in trying to prove themselves to players and attract users, and even prove that they are a successful game and able to compete among other prominent titles and names. Has the game “Pragmata” succeeded in this matter?
A different and unique story
The game “Pragmata” adopts a different and very futuristic story, as its events take place on a lunar base designed to test 3D printing technologies and the things that can be done using this technology, specifically the “lunafilament” material, which is abundant on the moon.
But suddenly, the station stops working and one of the ground team engineers needs to visit it to find out why it stopped working.
The British newspaper “The Guardian” review of the game confirms that the first moments of the game are characterized by an atmosphere of melancholy and captivating sadness, thanks to the corridors that lead to abandoned laboratories and the half-printed equipment that stands frozen in place.
The game’s hero suddenly discovers that all the researchers at the station have died under mysterious circumstances, so security robots begin attacking the game’s hero before he is saved by “Pragmata,” a machine designed in the shape of a 6-year-old girl who works to help researchers in the laboratory.
The game experience then begins to unfold clearly with many surprises in the story, as well as innovative playing methods that combine small robotic robots and the game’s hero.
Development hell
Pragmata has entered what gaming fans and press describe as development hell, a concept that refers to the constant delays that cause a game to remain in development for longer than intended.
A report published by the American technical website PC Gamer confirms that “Pragmata” went through this matter, as it was announced for the first time in 2020 to coincide with the announcement of the new generation of gaming platforms at that time, which is “PlayStation 5.”

The game was supposed to be released simultaneously to be one of the first-year games for PlayStation platforms, and the ongoing development crisis greatly prompted the game to be postponed more than once. The first time it was postponed to 2022, then 2024, and finally to be released in 2026.
The game’s director, Cho Young, confirmed in a previous interview with the American technical website “The Gamer” that they tried to provide a new experience in various aspects of the game, including the hacking system inside it.
Wide public and critical success
Despite the delays that the game “Pragmata” faced, it launched to find widespread public and critical success from the first hours of its release.
The game succeeded in breaking the barrier of 86 degrees on all platforms on which it is released, in addition to reaching a user rating of more than 9 degrees.

During the first days of its launch, the game was able to exceed the barrier of one million copies sold, according to the Capcom press release, which is considered a great success for a title released for the first time.
The Gamer website report indicates that the game has more than 50,000 players connected at the same time, and sometimes reaches 70,000 players, which reflects the wide demand for it by users.
