US President Donald Trump said, “The United States was able to remove 22 giant oil tankers from the Strait of Hormuz in one night under tight guard and complete radio silence.”
Trump added – to CNBC – that the US Army has been carrying out a military operation for a month and a half to secure the movement of oil in the Strait of Hormuz, which prevented the price of a barrel from rising to $350, stressing that he does not want his name to be associated with putting America and the world into a major economic depression, as the late US President Herbert Hoover did.
Trump said that the United States had achieved a “complete military decisiveness” against Iran within four months, stressing that Tehran was “totally defeated militarily” and that its remaining missiles “can be destroyed.”
He also said that American forces launched strong strikes against Iran over 3 consecutive nights during the past two weeks in response to targeting a ship with a drone.
Trump also said that the United States destroyed a new Iranian radar system last week, adding that Iran is now “without any radar network.” He also considered that “Iranian military power has ended,” describing reports of an improvement in Tehran’s situation as “fake news.”
Confrontation objectives
The American President stressed that the confrontation with Iran “is not a war in itself, but rather a process aimed at nuclear disarmament,” stressing that he does not seek to change the Iranian regime, but rather to prevent Tehran from possessing a nuclear weapon.
Trump confirmed that he has been leading – for about four months – efforts to achieve this goal, stressing that “Iran cannot be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon at all.” He revealed that the United States is conducting negotiations with Tehran, considering that Iran has “agreed to almost all American demands.”
Trump said, “We are currently negotiating with Iran, and I think it has agreed to almost all of our demands,” noting that the current Iranian leaders are “more rational” and that there is agreement with them, considering that this represents a change in approach, but he stressed again that he is not seeking regime change.
Trump accused Iran of practicing “bullying” in the Middle East and against the United States for 47 years due to the “weakness of previous presidents.” He also renewed his criticism of former President Barack Obama, saying that he handed Tehran $1.7 billion in cash that was used to develop weapons and missiles.
