US President Donald Trump says it is “ridiculous” for the US to continue with the country’s relationship with the defense alliance NATO.
“Ridiculous for the US to continue down this one-sided path when the relationship is not mutual. They were not there for us,” the president writes on Truth Social, without specifically mentioning when NATO countries were not there for the US.
Trump has previously expressed frustration several times that he perceives NATO countries as unwilling to help the US in the Iran war and to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
