ÖSK’s cancer continues.
The team clapped together in the second half away to Ljungskile.
LSK turned around and won late – thanks to Lionel Messi (?).
Rikard Norling’s Örebro SK continues to have a tough time in the super league. The team has only won three of 14 games in the league so far and on Saturday the team’s winless streak was extended to seven games, after ÖSK lost a 2-1 lead away to bottom competitor Ljungskile to lose 2-3.
The big hero for the home team was striker Alex Rasheed, 20, who scored the winning goal in the 97th minute.
Before that, winger Shakur Omar, 22, had been the home team’s leading figure with his two goals. The first came after a quarter of an hour, when Omar cut in from the left and passed ÖSK player after ÖSK player before beautifully slotting in to make it 1-1.
Was inspired by Messi
– A simple goal. The best do that, just check them out and follow suit. I watch Messi in the World Cup, it’s just to imitate and learn from the best. Messi… He is football, says Omar to TV4 during the break.
Before Omar’s equaliser, Samuel Wikman, 24, had given ÖSK the lead on a pass from Ahmed Yasin, 35, and before the break Yasin himself made it 2–1 to Örebro. Just before the break, ÖSK had the chance to extend their lead, but Kalle Holmberg’s, 33, penalty was saved.
But Shakur Omar wasn’t done. In the 55th minute, Omar again received the ball on the left flank and, in best Leo Messi fashion, he spun up ÖSK’s right-back Giuseppe Bovalina, 21, before making it 2-2.
Crisis in Örebro
With just seconds to play, substitute Rasheed completed the turnaround with a distinctive shot.
– I get a perfect pass, I just had to push it up, says the overjoyed match hero to TV4.
In the ÖSK camp, the mood was all the more gloomy. With the late conceded goal, Örebro has now lost five of its last seven games and enters the summer break in a negative qualifying position.
Late winning goal in Varberg
Even in the parallel super-one match, between Varberg and Öster, the decision fell late. As the match approached 90′, the score was 1–1, after goals from Shanyder Borgelin, 24, and Kalle Wendt, 20.
Then a corner bounced out to Varberg’s Erion Sadiku, 24, who hammered in the winning goal from the edge of the penalty area.
With the victory, Varberg climbs up to second place in the table, one point behind league leaders Falkenberg.
