The French Football Federation has excluded a number of holders of tickets allocated to fans of the French national team in the 2026 World Cup, after it was proven that they were involved in reselling them at prices that greatly exceed their original value, according to what was reported by the newspaper “Ouest-France”.
These tickets were specifically placed at the disposal of French fans at subsidized prices, with the aim of ensuring a massive presence of “Roosters” fans in the tournament stands. However, some beneficiaries took advantage of the opportunity to make quick profits, as they re-offered tickets that had been purchased for about 50 euros (about 54 dollars) in exchange for amounts that sometimes reached 500 euros (about 540 dollars).

The presence of fans from competing teams or neutral fans inside the stands usually reserved for French supporters during the Senegal and Iraq matches raised suspicions about illegal resale operations.

This prompted French fan groups, led by Irresistibles Français, to cooperate with the French Football Federation to uncover those involved. Investigations resulted in the identification of a number of violators, who have already been prevented from benefiting from tickets allocated to French fans in the future.
