She explained that this type of tobacco is consumed without emitting smoke, but it contains a very high percentage of nicotine.

This product is consumed orally by placing it between the lip and gums to absorb nicotine directly through the oral tissues.

Not the only player

The newspaper pointed out that Oliseh is not the only one among football players who uses this type of tobacco, as Englishman Jamie Vardy was seen carrying a can of “Snus” in 2018, during his time playing at Leicester City.

At that time, Vardy admitted that this trend was very common among players, saying, “When I joined Leicester, I started using it. They are nicotine patches that you put on your gums for about 10 minutes.”

“A lot more footballers use it than people think, and some even play wearing it during matches,” he added.

Oliset is performing at a remarkable level with the French national team in the current edition of the World Cup finals, and he clearly contributed to his country’s victory in the first two matches.

Of the 6 goals scored by the “Roosters” against Senegal and Iraq, respectively, Oliseh made 4 of them, 3 for his teammate Kylian Mbappe and the last for Ousmane Dembélé, all within 158 minutes, according to data from the famous “Transfermarkt” website.

So far, no statement or clarification has been issued by the French Football Federation or Oliseh himself regarding that photo.
