He has been the man of rumours.
Now Julián Álvarez, 26, tells himself that he wants to leave Atlético Madrid.
– I want to fulfill my dream, he says.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have pulled in Atlético Madrid’s star striker Julián Álvarez.
After Argentina’s 2-0 victory against Austria in the World Cup, the 26-year-old himself chose to drop the bomb.
He made it clear that he is looking for a move.
– It’s not the right time to talk about this, but at the same time I don’t want to hide. I try to be an honest person. I have spoken to people in the club, to those I needed to speak to, he told ESPN according to March.
– The best thing for everyone is a move. I want to fulfill my dream.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano states that Álvarez and Barcelona agree on a move but that the clubs have not yet reached an agreement. A few weeks ago, the Madrid club snubbed a billion bid from Barça.
In Barcelona, Álvarez is seen as the team’s new number nine after Robert Lewandowski left the club.
The Argentine’s contract with Atlético is written until 2030. Last season he accounted for 20 goals and nine assists in a total of 49 games.
