Linus Carlstrand, 21, led Öster to a convincing 4–0 victory against Gif Sundsvall.

Then the table jumbo was booed by the supporters – and demanded the resignation of sporting director Joel Cedergren.

One goal, two goals, three goals.

Yes, a three-goal deficit after 23 minutes played was the final straw for the “Giffarna” supporters.

At the same time as Östermidtfälter Karl Wendt celebrated his half-volley that found its way into the roof of the net, loud bus whistles were heard from the stands – with accompanying shouts of resignation to the club’s sporting director Joel Cedergren.

The crowd then got their flame on when the next cold shower came just a few minutes later and 4-0 was a fact, which was also the final score of the match.

The Giffarna thus dispose of their ninth loss of the season and remain as table jumbo.

The new acquisition was behind all the goals

At the same time, Öster is catching up in the top shift of the super one – thanks in large part to this season’s new acquisition Linus Carlstrand, who was involved in all the goals.

The 21-year-old was the first to find the back of the net before extending his tally five minutes later. He then played up to both Wendt and Oscar Uddenäs, who scored his third goal of the season.

Carlstrand is now in shared second place in the Superettan shooting league with eight goals scored.

– It feels good, you don’t think too damn much. You just have to keep going and I can’t do it myself either. It’s a team effort and it’s nice to be able to put the balls there and to be able to contribute with assists, he says about his form in TV4’s broadcast.

Instead, Sundsvall defender Amaro Bahtijar was visibly disappointed by the loss.

– I don’t know what to say, it’s empty. I don’t want to share more than that. We want to win, but somewhere something goes wrong, he says.

“Beijing” won the summit

And just as the league jumbo failed to pick up any points, the table Varberg BoIS was also scoreless in the summit meeting against Norrköping.

The green-clad team lost by two goals to nil after Christoffer “Totte” Nyman broke the deadlock in the first half.

With barely 20 minutes left to play, Ryan Nelson was then able to extend the lead. Norrköping is now only one point behind Varberg in the table.

On Saturday, Varberg and Öster face each other, while “Giffarna” and Norrköping play their matches on Sunday. Then against Helsingborg and Norrby respectively.
