Military and strategic expert Colonel Nidal Abu Zeid said that the American side is not bombing Iran from within its airspace, but rather is adopting an advanced tactic using ballistic missiles carried on aircraft launched from outside Iranian airspace.
He added – during the military analysis segment – that America can bomb Iran from Iraqi airspace or from the Arabian Gulf without entering Iranian airspace, which is a tactic previously followed by the Israeli side.
Abu Zeid pointed out that this type of bombing spares the American side any interceptions from Iranian air defenses, because there are no American planes inside Iranian airspace at all.
He stressed that the bombing from outside the airspace prepares the air environment to enter the Iranian interior, by following “air stripping” operations, which means cleaning the “air corridors” of defenses and radars in preparation for the main operations.
These initial strikes targeted the regions of Hormuz, Karjan, and Sirik towards Jask and Qeshm, considering that these areas constitute a single corridor that paves the way for American aircraft.
Target strikes
Abu Zeid believes that the main target of the American strikes will be central Iran, specifically the city of Isfahan, and then moving to the far east of Iran, in a multi-stage operation aimed at disabling nuclear facilities and air defenses.
Washington announced – at dawn today – additional defensive strikes against multiple targets in Iran, and that the strikes are a response to the ongoing and unjustified Iranian aggression.
Mehr Agency quoted informed Iranian sources as saying that clashes between Iranian forces and the American army in Gulf waters and the Sea of Oman are continuing, while Fars Agency quoted Iraqi sources that the American Al-Harir base in Erbil, northern Iraq, was targeted by a missile from Iran.
Axios also quoted an American official as saying that the targets that were subjected to the American attack are located in southern Iran, and include air defense systems, radars, and drone control units.
Officials added to the website that they expect an Iranian response that may target American bases, and that the aim of the strikes is to pressure Tehran to sign the agreement, but it may lead to a military escalation.
