The friendly international football match between the national teams of Hungary and Kazakhstan witnessed an unusual accident after a camera suspended with a “spider” system suddenly fell on the floor of the Nagyrdye Stadium in the Hungarian city of Debrecen, sparking a state of confusion inside the stadium.
Activists on social media circulated video clips documenting the moment the camera fell, when it broke away from its position and fell directly on the touchline and was completely destroyed, amid the astonishment of the players and a clear reaction from the fans present.
The accident led to the match being stopped for a few minutes, before the organizing teams quickly intervened to remove the debris and secure the playing field, so the confrontation would resume normally later.
Despite the moments of panic that accompanied the sudden fall, Hungarian media confirmed that the accident did not result in any injuries among the players or the refereeing staff, and that conditions quickly returned to normal on the field.
The match ended with the Hungarian team defeating its Kazakh counterpart 3-1, in a match that was overshadowed by this unexpected incident more than its technical course.
