Outwardly, the Sweden Democrats have reacted with shock after one of their Riksdag members is suspected of child pornography offences.
But an internal report shows widespread dissatisfaction and alarming information about the politician – and a close relationship with party leader Richard Jomshof.
– For some reason, the small entourage around Rickard Jomshof is always well protected from problems, says a source with insight.
This week, an SD member left his duties in the Riksdag after it became known that he was being investigated on suspicion of child pornography crimes, which SVT was able to reveal.
The suspicions have caused shock waves – which party leader Jimmie Åkesson rewritten.
But an internal report that Aftonbladet has seen shows widespread dissatisfaction with the suspect and alarms from colleagues several years ago.
Close contact with Jomshof
There, a close relationship between him and the party top is highlighted in particular Richard Jomshof.
Several people in the report also testify about a special “clique” linked to Richard Jomshof – in which the Member of Parliament is said to have been a part.
– Undoubtedly, yes. He did. He was very important on a personal level to Rickard Jomshof, says a source with insight.
How would you describe that grouping?
– They are the ones with whom it is fun to party, according to the part of the party leadership around Rickard Jomshof, his phalanx and party gang. I don’t know what it is that is so amazing there, but for some reason the small entourage around Rickard Jomshof is always well protected from trouble. You do everything you can to save them, while others are thrown out as soon as it feels inconvenient.
The member is said to have been voted out of his post in the city council in 2016, whereupon Jomshof put pressure on the district to change the decision.
“Despite this, Richard Jomshof pulled a lance to save his employee friend also by completely overlooking the shortcomings that had been rightly pointed out,” the report says.
He is also said to have expressed a desire to redo the annual meeting and he is said to have then put pressure on the party in the municipality to place the member as a list on SD’s municipal ballot.
Jomshof is said to have also expressed that he “has a hard time with individuals who don’t do what we say”, according to the report.
Commitment to sexual politics
The source highlights the criminal suspect’s fixation on sexual politics.
– There has been a report on his person on the party board’s table that has been handled there. Then it is very difficult to see that Jimmie Åkesson would be surprised and shocked by this, which is now the line officially from the party.
– There is a pattern in that he had a lot of involvement in these issues that have to do with sexual politics and interest in them.
In connection with a district chairman’s meeting, the suspected member suggested that a friend of his should give a lecture as part of an educational package on LGBTQ and trans issues.
The same friend has been linked to a notorious pedophile site. There, the person has written, among other things, that “child pornography must be legalized”, writes DN.
Information that Aftonbladet’s source believes is correct.
– I think she had written that she worked to give the pedophile a face, and ironically, the pedophile has now been given a face.
“Not a bolt from a clear blue sky”
According to the person, the information that appeared in the report should have been taken seriously.
– It has actually been consistent. It’s not a bolt from the blue sky.
The person also believes that this raises the question of how SD is fit for government.
– Now that the SD is possibly going to join the government and could get ministerial positions, then it will be even more important to check that particular aspect. You can’t have people with any loads, says the source and continues:
– If he had entered this government and whoever was in charge of these tasks had chosen to blackmail him instead, then they could have made him dance anyway.
