Russian President Vladimir Putin flatly rejects Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s invitation to direct talks to end the Russian war of invasion.

Putin says there is “no point” in meeting Zelensky until a peace deal is concluded.

– Military operations will end when we have reached the goals we set, Putin said.

In the past, the Kremlin has had a long list of targets for Russian warfare, among them full control of the eastern Donbass region and the Crimean peninsula, as well as sweeping political and military changes in Ukraine.

The move was made during the ongoing economic meeting held in Russian St. Petersburg.

– Let the experts work, come up with some solutions, and then we can meet, Putin said.
