Two people have been taken to hospital by ambulance after a car collided with a train north of Vetlanda.
The accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. at an unguarded crossing between road and railway, at a place where, according to the police, the train is estimated to be traveling at around 80-100 kilometers per hour.
According to the police, the car was on its roof after the collision. One passenger remained in the car while the other got out. According to the police, they were conscious before being taken to hospital.
– It’s an ongoing rescue operation, so we don’t know anything about the damage, police spokesperson Johnny Gustafsson told TT shortly before 3 p.m.
There are no reports of injured train passengers. The train remains on the track and there is a stop on the route.
