Since the adoption of the new system for the Champions League last season, the tournament has witnessed major transformations in the level of financial returns allocated to participating clubs.
These changes came as part of the efforts of the European Football Association (UEFA) to enhance the attractiveness of the tournament and raise its economic value, in light of previous attempts to launch the European Super League project.

Under the new rewards system, clubs receive financial rewards for their results in each match, with a victory amounting to 2.1 million euros, while a draw awards 700,000 euros, in addition to additional rewards that increase with progress in the knockout rounds.
The rewards for the league stage are also linked to the team’s position in the ranking table, as the first-place player receives 10 million euros, with the amounts allocated to the rest of the teams gradually increasing.
These rewards gain special importance as the 2025-2026 Champions League final between England’s Arsenal and France’s Paris Saint-Germain approaches, after the two teams have already guaranteed huge financial returns before playing the final match at the Puskas Arena.
Arsenal entered the final after performing an almost perfect journey in the tournament, as it played 14 matches during which it achieved 11 victories and 3 draws, which guaranteed it large financial returns from the results bonuses.
The London team also finished the league stage in the lead, receiving the highest reward allocated for this stage, amounting to 10 million euros.
Thus, the total amount Arsenal received before playing the final match amounted to about 111 million euros, with the possibility of increasing this number in the event of winning the title.
As for Paris Saint-Germain, it needed to play a larger number of matches to reach the final, after it finished the league stage in eleventh place and was forced to play in the 16-final playoff.
The French team played 16 matches in its continental career, achieving 10 victories and 4 draws against two defeats, before making its way to the second final in a row.
Paris Saint-Germain’s revenues from its participation in the tournament so far have amounted to about 96.5 million euros, and they are likely to rise if coach Luis Enrique succeeds in leading the team to the title.
European Champion Bonus
The team that wins the final will receive an additional bonus of €6.5 million added to its total revenue in the tournament.
Thus, the value of the rewards associated with the final match amounts to 25 million euros for the champion, distributed between 18.5 million euros for reaching the final and 6.5 million euros as a reward for winning the title.
In return, the losing team will receive only 18.5 million euros, which is the bonus allocated for reaching the final.
