Final in the Champions League – the same day as the Stockholm Marathon.
Aaron Ramsey, 35, solved both.
“What a fantastic event,” wrote the Arsenal profile after his new personal best.
The Stockholm Marathon started at 12:00 on Saturday. The Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG started exactly six hours later.
Aaron Ramseywho played for Arsenal from 2008-2019, was one of the 25,000 registered runners for the marathon. The 35-year-old got around in 2.59.20. It is a new personal record. The dream limit of three hours was also broken.
“Personal best,” Ramsey signed Instagram followed by an emoji representing a gold medal.
“The BIG Event”
Three hours after the finish, the CL final awaited for Ramsey’s old club, Arsenal’s first in 20 years.
“Now time for the BIG event,” wrote the Arsenal profile in the next story on Instagram, with a picture of the “Gunners” starting line-up in the match.
Where somewhere in the capital that Ramsey followed the big football match, he did not share. At least it ended in sorrow for him, then Arsenal lost on penalties.
The Welshman put his boots on the shelf earlier this spring after a few months without a club. In total, there were 64 goals in 369 games, as well as three FA Cup titles, in the Arsenal shirt.
