Russia criticizes the support that NATO promised to Ukraine during the alliance’s meeting in Turkey.

In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry accuses the NATO members of an “irresponsible decision that could lead to disaster” and also accuses the European countries of preparing “for an armed conflict with Russia.”

During the meeting on Wednesday, the NATO countries made pledges of 70 billion euros in support to Ukraine in 2026 and at least the same amount in 2027. Of that, 30 billion per year must come from the EU’s decided 90-billion loan.

In connection with the NATO meeting, US President Donald Trump promised, in a separate meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, that the country will receive a license to manufacture robots for the Patriot air defense system.
