France is to contribute soldiers, equipment and expertise to Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO battle group in the north. One place they can end up in is Boden.
The decision, which SVT was the first to report on, was formally taken when French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) shook hands in connection with the NATO summit in Ankara.
It is not certain that the French, as yet unclear how many, end up in Boden when they come to participate in exercises. It might as well be northern Finland, according to information to TT. But it is in Boden that the Swedish force that leads the Swedish-Finnish FLF group has its base. The group, which was recently started, is to be ready to be deployed in northern Sweden and Finland and will have exercises in several locations.
