David Chase, the creator of “The Sopranos,” the groundbreaking series about the Italian-American mafia, is working on two new projects about LSD, Variety reports.
During the film festival in Karlovy Vary revealed Chase that he is working on an indie film that deals with the psychedelic drug LSD and is about “a young college DJ”. More details are available on the upcoming HBO series “Project: MKUltra”, based on the true story of the chemist Sidney Gottlieb who led the CIA’s secret and deadly experiments with LSD and brainwashing during the Cold War.
– Charles Manson maybe got LSD from MKUltra; all these other people were taking LSD, like Cary Grant. To me it’s almost comical. It’s absurd. I like the irony that they wanted to make LSD a weapon, but it became a party drug and a very spiritual experience, Chase said.
