Ethan Hawke continues to engage in Skandia’s survival in Stockholm.
Now the film star takes a seat on the cinema’s honorary board.
“Preserving the world’s historic cinemas is crucial for the future of film art and Bio Skandia is one of the finest I have had the pleasure of visiting”, states Ethan Hawke in a press release.
Skandia was inaugurated in 1923 and has had difficulty coping financially in recent years, which has threatened its survival. Hawke committed himself to the fate of the cinema already when he visited the Stockholm Film Festival in 2023 and is the first American to take a seat on the cinema’s honorary board.
Also the director and game creator Joseph Fares is now on the board, there Stellan Skarsgård and Tarik Saleh already included.
