The company Petzl Nordic is recalling ice axes, which are used, among other things, for climbing, because the handle can come off, according to the Swedish Consumer Agency.
The recall concerns lots of Nomic ice axes, which were manufactured between December 2017 and June 2020, and Ergonomic, which were manufactured between June 2018 and December 2021.
As the handle can come off during normal use, there is a risk of serious fall injuries and death, according to The Swedish Consumer Agency.
Consumers are therefore advised to immediately stop using the axes and contact the manufacturer.
