Djurgården is changing after the difficult start.
Coach Willie Kirk, 48, is fired.
Second jumbo in the women’s league and only two wins and six goals scored in eleven league games.
The spring season has been heavy for Djurgården.
Now the Stockholm team is trying to get back on track with the firing of Willie Kirk.
“Not good enough”
– After a positive start with good football and a semi-final in the Swedish Cup, we have unfortunately ended up in a sporting situation where the results in the women’s league have not been good enough and consequently we are implementing this change. We therefore thank Willie for his time and commitment in Djurgården and wish him great luck in the future, says sporting director Jean Balawo to the club’s website.
Kirk joined Djurgården from Linköping ahead of this year’s season. There were only 15 competitive matches at the helm.
